  • I’m fresh out of uni and I’m trying to learn new stuff, but idk what to do with my life anymore.

I’m assuming you are actively looking for a job in a field relevant to your degree? If not, that is your life until you find one; some branching out may be required if your particular field isn’t in demand.

I’m being offered to take a sysadmin certification for this particular distribution I know absolutely nothing about…The exam is free, but I must pass it, or else I must pay for it and then take it again.

Unless this certification is specifically listed as a requirement for a job your are applying to, don’t do the certification. They are normally expensive and not that helpful.

  • Yeah, kids are darn expensive. I’m damn happy my parents decided to have me despite that fact. :)

To answer OP’s question, also doing better than them at the same age. Big part of it was investing early (time-value of money is a massive deal) and keeping the same car forever. My parents have spent quite a bit on cars over the years, it is probably their largest reducible expense. I bought a lightly used crossover a long time ago, and it’s got a long life ahead of it.

East Germany never fully recovered after Soviet occupation and the desolation the Soviets created. Germany has invested heavily rebuilding the east, but there is a constant brain drain, causing western migration of every German capable enough. This has left the east in a poor state they still have yet to recover from. The people in that region know this, but it doesn’t change the fact they don’t feel good about the lingering differences, which influences their voting behaviors heavily.

  • Linux instructions:

    Relevant commands:

    • nordvpn settings - lists out settings
    • nordvpn set [SettingName] [NewValue] - sets the relavent setting
    • nordvpn whitelist add subnet [Mask] - whitelists the specified subnet to allow in traffic originating there
    • nordvpn d and nordvpn c - to disconnect and connect
    • ifconfig - gets your current IP

    Bringing it all together:

    1. Run ifconfig to get your current IP. It’s most likely 192.168.1.xxx

    2. Run nordvpn whitelist add subnet 192.168.1.0/24 to add your subnet to the whitelist (change the first three sections of the subnet to match what your IP is in the first command if it is different)

    3. Run nordvpn settings to view all settings and verify they look right, you should see your subnet in the whitelist section now

    4. Run nordvpn c to reconnect and apply your new settings

Now LAN connections can reach your computer, even while it is connected to the VPN. For incomming WAN connections, verify port forwarding is setup on your router to point to the computer.

    Optional:

    1. Run nordvpn set analytics disabled to disable analytics

  • Yep. The core issue is Congress continues to give the executive more and more power every administration (both D and R). Congress needs to take back some of their own power.

This announcement is basically saying he’s going to micromanage the fucking entire Executive Branch government.

That is pretty much the point of the executive, and by extension, the president. Congress creates departments with powers and the executive administers them.
