  • Eh, it’s been old equipment and concripts for a bit now, but that’s not what the sent at first.

Yes at the very beginning they just wanted to make a strong push for the “Special Operation” grab and we saw the results, they weren’t good for Ukraine but Ukraine still did better than Russia expected.

When Russia realizes the “special operation” was actually going to have to be a war of attrition, they decided to scale back and basically just hold the area while using up old equipment and draining Ukraine which has much less reserved.

Trying to take a country using your C team and old hardware and then scaling up if things go badly is a radically bad strategy. It’s a great way to lose your C team

Hence why in the initial attempt at taking the country, as you say yourself, they used newer equipment. They switch to older equipment only when they realized it was going to be a long battle regardless. It’s worth noting the Ukraine was largely using older equipment as well with that being what the west was supplying. Using older equipment first isn’t a unique or rare strategy.

Also Russia doesn’t care if they lose the Z team, they fully expect to go through Z, Y, V etc. The hope is Ukraine won’t be able to last long enough for them to start running into trouble.

then send more competent soldiers to fight against a prepared and well defensed enemy.

Or it’s a great way to weaken the enemy and send the better troops to clean up. The entire C team might be less valuable than half the B team.

That might be what Russia did, but if so it’s a show of incompetence about in line with everything else we’ve seen and not some “better slow down” signal.

I believe it’s both. The entire invasion has been a show of incompetence from the beginning, but Russia just has the ability to out force Ukraine if need be. They just have to feel justified/like that’s their best option.

  • Not just riots. It very much had the potential to turn into a full coup or civil war. Unfortunately, they gave in to the demands of…being allowed to gang rape prisoners until they require hospitalization…

    https://thecradle.co/articles-id/26171

Israeli settlers began rioting on 29 July after Israeli military police stormed the Sde Teiman detention center – known for its brutal and inhumane treatment of Palestinian detainees – and arrested nine soldiers behind the sexual assault of a Palestinian prisoner.

The prisoner had been raped violently by the soldiers to the point where the prisoner required hospitalization, resulting in the opening of an investigation.

Israeli settlers, far-right activists, and Knesset members broke into the Sde Teiman detention center in defense of the detained soldiers. National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir and other officials urged their followers to storm the facility and demand the release of the soldiers.

Members of the Knesset representing several political parties, including the Likud, also took part in the riots. After the nine soldiers were moved to the Beit Lid base for questioning, settler rioters also arrived at the site.

Hebrew news outlet Channel 14 reported on 29 July that the soldiers’ arrest warrants were canceled and that military police limited themselves to just an interrogation.

  • The west is stopping Ukraine from doing this for their own good.

The west wants to drag out the war to bleed out Russia.

Seriously Striking Moscow (for example) would almost certainly result in a swift, all out retaliation from Russia towards Ukraine.

The western media might not like to portray it as such, but this is still largely an excursion using older equipment and avoiding mass mobilization, preferring to send “endesirables” like criminals or the poor, for Russia, while Ukraine has been running out of equipment and men.

This is a case of “fog of war” or not seeing the forest for the trees with Ukraine, the west isn’t as biased in their analysis of the situation.

  • I didn’t say it was definitely fake. But it’s certainly not definitely true and that hasn’t stopped almost everyone else here acting like it’s a fact, speaking of…why aren’t you pointing out to them that we shouldn’t necessarily call it fake or real without further analysis?

If I posted a random article from North Korean news (in collaboration with China or Iran) about something bad with South Korea or the US and the article only cited “anonymous sources”, would the reaction be the same?

People need to recognize and understand the media/propaganda they are consuming.

  • Kidnapping is based with North Koreans if it means giving them a better, happier and healthier life

So as long as you believe you’ll give them a better life you can kidnap them? Isn’t that the logic north Korea themselves use to to isolate from the rest of the world?

So the north Korea can’t use this logic to ban western influence but you can use it to kidnap people from a foreign nation and thats justified?

let these particular athletes escape what will inevitably be a death sentence for taking a picture with the South Koreans.

And you’re basing this “inevitable death sentence” off of what?

An article, citing another article hosted by a “news agency” which is a NED/South Korean government United propaganda project, and cites “anonymous sources” who says they could have to publicly denounce the action?

Are you just clueless or what? Kim has enslaved their entire nation with an iron fist.

Meanwhile you’re ready to advocate for the kidnapping of people from another country to save them based on nothing.

Pure white saviourism, as I said, people wonder how people allowed colonialism to happen…

  • Table tennis champions said to be in ‘cleanse from exposure to contamination’ following podium picture with opponents

Ri Jong Sik and Kim Kum Yong, who won silver medals, are said to be undergoing “ideological evaluation” along with other athletes who returned from the Paris Games.

    the Daily NK reported.

Citing anonymous official sources in Pyongyang, the news outlet, which specialises in North Korean affairs

    Hmmm…

    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daily_NK

Daily NK is a recipient of funding from multiple institutions and private donors, including the National Endowment for Democracy,[4] an NGO funded by the U.S. Congress. Daily NK’s president is Lee Kwang-baek.

The organization is part of a consortium with the Unification Media Group, which is a South Korea–based non-profit organization that produces and delivers radio content into North Korea via short-wave radio broadcasts.

So it’s a NED funded propaganda network controlled by Lee Kwang-baek

    https://www.dailynk.com/english/author/lee-kwang-baek/

Lee Kwang Baek has served as Daily NK’s president since 2014 alongside his role as president of Unification Media Group. He is an advisor to the Korea Hana Foundation

    https://koreahana.or.kr/home/eng/contents.do?menuPos=2

The Korea Hana Foundation(KHF) is a non-profit public organization established by Ministry of Unification in 2010. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ministry_of_Unification

The Ministry of Unification (Korean: 통일부; Hanja: 統一部) is an executive department of the South Korean government

So the source for this story is another story citing “anonymous sources”, and that original story is from a US-South Korea joint propaganda project?

    Nice.
