Well, to start, all the rich left winger hollywood sorts should be funneling their absurd wealth into programs and initiatives that counter the authoritarian fascist agenda. Oh, no, those people, like Leonardo Di Caprio, are too busy preaching to us about green/progressive values, while slutting around with 25 yo models on private ‘carbon-footprints go brrrrrrr’ yachts in the Mediterranean, and or funneling their money into pro-Israel/genocide denial/PR spin efforts, etc. The notion that the right wing has all the money is strange, its more that the progressives just dont want to contribute / back up their words with actions. And, what goes for those hollywood showboaters, goes for a large majority of Americans who come online and whine about it not being their fault.
And it goes triple for the democratic leaders, who are either too limpwristed/ineffectual to be able to accomplish anything significant, or are quietly complicit/encouraging the same general agenda – implying that, based on your democratic process, the agenda isn’t a “wedge issue” between the two sides of the country, but they’re all basically in lock step. Afterall, some democratic politicians have said they favour the tariff approach, but they’d be ‘nicer’ in the language as they tried to fuck all America’s allies over – and it’s highly unlikely that they’ll do much to reverse the damage Trump is causing on that front.
And yes, if there’s no representation / your government’s gone rogue, the assumption from the rest of the world is that the American people would nut up and solve it with Violence. Because news-flash, that’s the image America has branded itself as historically – and they’re increasingly showing that they only understand the threat/use of violence on the world stage in terms of international relations.
Something? Literally anything at all? At the absolute bare-minium… not electing a convicted felon and child rapist to the highest office twice? The DeFlock movement has more teeth than the pushback against Trump does. You want a good idea of what you could start doing to push back against GOP fascism then there is a place to start.
I live in a country that the Trump regime is currently engaged in hostile actions against, including credible threats of physical invasion. Forgive me for being harsh here, but it’s not my job to fix the US’s shit nor is it the job of anyone else that the US is/has been fucking with. I’m having to have conversations with my friends and family about the impact the US trade war has had on their jobs and our economy and what we’re going to do if that fascist shitstain actually invades us. I cannot put into words how frustrating it is to constantly deal with Americans that have done absolutely nothing to prevent this outcome while apologising for Trump’s actions like he’s a poodle that dumped on our lawn. Even worse when these empty apologies come from people that admitted that they don’t vote.
Do better. Fix your shit; it’s not our job to do it for you. We have enough issues going on here at home that we’re dealing without without having to teach Americans about how their own system works while their boot is on our necks.
That is exactly the thing i was trying to emphasize - other countries do not want to deal with all of the shit coming from the current US admin. We all are very transparently aiming towards a world order where we all are not dependent on a state that switches allegiance based on how much dirt the russian opposition has on the current president of the US - and yes, he is a fucking child rapist. People who voted for him should be put on a database for potential childfuckers - that midset is infectious, at least of the level of measels, and probably even on a deeper level.
|Best they can do is shrug and say “well, I didn’t vote for him”
|Something? Literally anything at all? At the absolute bare-minium… not electing a convicted felon and child rapist to the highest office twice?
These are the same.
That said, you’re not going to gain any sympathy or legitimately help with this shit, so I don’t know what your end goal is. I get that you’re upset and it’s easy to throw stones, but it’s almost an impossibility we fix this in house. We have more military bases that are permanent fixtures in other countries than we have states and we have way too fucking many of those too. Fascism isn’t an us problem, it’s an everyone problem. The apparatus that they’ve used to dominate the planet and pillage is now being pointed inward, but this time it has a camera in a every neighborhood.
CA has a long history of helping us gain this amount of global influence and power as well, and this didn’t happen in a vacuum.
Long story short, you’re preaching to the choir on this platform, and same team. This isn’t helping.
So odd how every single time there’s US election, this sentiment comes out like clockwork.
“Better blame the people that knew better, they’re the exact same as those that sponsored this unhinged bullshit”
Let’s pretend to take the high ground while generalizing
Please do enlighten us and say what you would do.
Well said.
