I got an android equivalent of Airtag and a cat collar holder, thinking to check where my cat hangs out when he’s not home. Not on a regular basis, but to let him wear it a few times to get an idea if i ever have to look for him.

My cat doesn’t normally wear any collar, and this collar is a safety release one, so I’m a bit worried it may fall off in one of the neighbours garden, which would be embarrassing to retrieve.

Anyone with experience of using the Tags to track their cat?

    Update:

    I attached to tag to my cat last night - it’s a moto tag 2 with uwb.

    Once he left my home, he was off the radar for half hour until find hub located it in the backyard of nearby houses, so that answered my question. The location updates were very infrequent, like every 10m. I was expecting better accuracy and frequency given how many houses surround those backyards.

    I went looking for him, and i could connect to the tag, but the cat found me before i could figure out his location using UWB.
