I wet shave with a Muhle R89 and/or a Merkur 23C which are both on the mild side. I hear Henson razors are very high quality in their construction but they are also very mild. If you have very thick facial hair then there are better more aggressive razors on the market at a much better price.
additonally, most quality safety razors provide a smoother shave with less ingrown hairs and less razor burn when compared to their cartridge counterparts. -That is also partly dependent on the blade used. Some blades (like Derby) are notoriously dull, while others (such as Feather or Bic) are incredibly sharp. My personal preference is the Indian-Manufactured Gillette-Wilkinson Sword Blades. They’re on the sharper end while still not being as sharp as the others mentioned.
