Once saw an experiment using reactive dye and a toilet, they flushed it with the lid up and down. When down it sprayed out the sides, when up it literally covered the whole room.
Fecal coliform were indeed found on all the test brushes, including the control ones. However, none were of a level high enough to be dangerous, and experts confirm that such bacteria are impossible to completely avoid.
I mean… impossible to avoid entirely, but still potentially good to close the lid to be on the side of cleanliness, especially when it is so trivially easy to simply close the lid to significantly reduce exposure.
At one point in my childhood I had noticed that it’s easier to keep the toilet brush clean if you brush while flushing. If everything goes well (not always) then by the end of the process you have both a clean toilet and a (mostly) poop free toilet brush.
I know it’s contained better when you close the lid first… But the wasted potential always hurts a little.
I feel like flushing with my big ass covering the seat minimizes particle spray about as well. The sides of the seat are vented and probably allow more airflow than my ass.
Also, what’s the proposed work flow here? Get up, put seat down flush, wait for agitation to stop and then lift seat up again to confirm everything went down? I can’t imagine many people do this.
You should do this anyway to minimize particle spray upon flushing
Just turn your graphics settings down, problem solved
50 series doesn’t support physx anyway so you’ll improve frame rate a lot!
i do it cuz my weirdo cat wants to play in the gd toilet

Especially toothbrushes!!
Poop is everywhere!

Does an open lid create a terrible difference?
Quantitatively yes, very much so.
Whether that translates to any different qualitative downstream outcomes, I do not know.
No. There is poop everywhere regardless.
So that’s what gives them the taste.
