“These weapons are incredible,” Trump said. “We have to be very careful about letting somebody build them. … You have to be very judicious, but you have to be very careful. … it’s a hard thing to give away that kind of technology, and I don’t think this would ever happen, but, you know, those people that you get that technology, they can someday turn on you. You know, that is possible.”
We don’t have any to spare because Iran has figured out how to overwhelm them.
I read the other day that our remaining stock of Patriots is so low that when US bases have missiles incoming, they essentially have to triage which ones they try to shoot down; if they don’t think there are troops or personnel where the missile is going, they just let it hit.
Edit: … And that’s pay walled, apologies. It’s referenced here as well: https://theintercept.com/2026/07/28/iran-missiles-drones-us-air-defenses/
Suck shit, Donald.
Vlad called.
It IS a big step.
Not like launching an unprovoked war of choice with no goal or plan against an adversary over whom you basically have no leverage just because you don’t like the last guy who negotiated with them.
Holy shit, I didn’t realize he had the capability to use the word “judicious” properly. Someone’s hooked on monkey phonics during iPad time.
Just to clarify: the issue doesn’t concern the delivery of Patriot missiles but rather a deal to license Ukrainian and European firms to manufacture the missile themselves.
During the ongoing war between the US and Iran, the US depleted its stockpiles of Patriot missiles to dangerous levels, forcing it to resupply the US military and leaving it unable to supply their European allies.
Realistically it might take up to two years to set up a manufacturing base in Ukraine, but now that Trump has once again backtracked on his earlier deal, Ukraine (as well as NATO and US allies in the Pacific) will be forced to seek alternatives.
8647 can’t come soon enough
How does he envisage surface-to-air missiles being used against him by current allies? Defending Greenland from a US invasion?
When the US fights China they will wish to have Ukraine enhanced Patriot missiles. Like drones are quickly improving in Ukraine, the missiles would get better fast, too.
Fight China? Nah…he’ll just make a deal with them. He’s good at that sort of thing. Making deals 🤡
I think it’s the opposite. Trump’s madness is a distraction while the USA are systematically preparing their war with China.
Here’s a crazy thought, how about the US fucks off back to its own shores and quits starting fights with the rest of the world?
I thought this was a done deal already. Sounds like they are walking the licensing deal back? Fuck Trump and everyone involved. It’s unconscionable. Civilians are dying daily in Ukrainian cities.
The real art of the deal is that there is no deal until he decides that there is one. When that happens, the deal springs instantly into existence under whatever terms he wants (strongly/powerfully/etc.) and you are immediately in breach.
This is Donald Trump we’re talking about. Things that may be true one day are completely bogus the next and everyone who mentions it is a despicable person for even bringing it up. This man doesn’t know what keeping your word even means. He thinks following through with something because you promised it is a sign of weakness, because why wouldn’t you double-cross somebody and change the rules after the game is over if you’re going to get a better deal out of it?
He’s not sure about giving them because no one is sure we still have them.
We know the US basically depleted their stockpile in the war with Iran.
This is a promise the US made to Ukraine after that to allow them to manufacture the missiles domestically, which Trump is now seemingly reneging on.
he probably will, nazi regimes cant help helping each other with their fascism. especially when one of them is a proxy state of the imperialist states of america 😒
