Are people asking me, as someone with principles, to turn my back on my Jewish friends? That is not going to happen – it will never happen. From the beginning of my career, I wore the Star of David … I feel very connected to the Jewish people. I’m not necessarily connected to Israel. I don’t really have an opinion on that. But the mission of music is to unite people.”

He said, after shoving his uninformed opinion on Israel and it’s ongoing genocide against the Palestinian people down everyone’s throat…

Like, it doesn’t seem that he actually supports what’s happening, it’s more like he has no fucking idea what is happening.

He doesn’t even understand that Israel doesn’t control the Jewish people.

Saying Israel is committing a genocide only betrays your friends who support the genocide, it has fuck all to do with religion.

Palestine’s issues aren’t that the people living in Israel are Jewish, it’s that the people living in Israel don’t see Palestinians as humans. They could be Christians, Muslims, or Atheists and the Palestinians would still be upset they’re victims of decades long genocide.

That’s pretty much everyone’s response to genocide, it doesn’t matter why your people are a target, you just don’t want to be genocided.

If he believes that the mission of music is to unite people, why is he writing songs that imply killing kids and civilians, and eradicating an ethnic group, is okay as long as you call it ‘war’

      That’s…not very ‘uniting’ of him

It’s okay to not be informed. Totally fine, if you don’t know about it, maybe just don’t take a definitive position on it? That’s a rational thing to do. Even more rational would be like “I don’t know enough about this, so, I need to educate myself”. Totally understandable…

What’s pretty fucking stupid, no matter what the subject, is to go “I don’t know wtf is going on… but here’s my opinion endorsing one side of it”.

The crux of the issue is in his head:

Israel = Jewish and Jewish = Israel

        Same thing with Biden.

Israel spent literal generations conflating the two and making people think they were the same. It shouldn’t be surprising when elderly people act like they’re the same.

What’s important is making sure people that still have fully functional brains understand it’s bullshit. And use it as an example for how propaganda can effect people so we don’t fall for the same thing under a different topic.

Yes but it’s not OK to have strong opinions on genocide while being uninformed about it.

        Edit:
OK, I see you got there eventually.
