That’s not really relevant, as they don’t do that. And the same thing would happen in the USA if Texas started calling itself a country, or California, etc.
The idea that Taiwan isn’t a part of China has never featured as a serious geopolitical idea. The question was “which government is the government we recognise as that of China”. Taiwanese independence is something which hasn’t happened yet. You could support movements that support it (kind of a weird thing for a foreigner to support a foreign separatist movement but you do you) but it hasn’t happened yet. And I don’t see why it would need to. Sure, Taiwan is a part of China in which the communists haven’t captured, and I don’t believe reigniting that war is a good idea - the cost of human life would be huge - but Taiwan itself isn’t a country, the Taiwan Area is just ruled by a different government, but still a part of China. The Chinese civil war was never intended to divide or cut up the country, unlike the likes of the Irish rebellions which wanted to cut up the United Kingdom.
