Why is this idiocy upvoted? Religious courts are not a thing in Christianity.

Egg on face time. Ecclesiastical courts are very much a thing, particularly in Catholic, Anglican, Mormon and Orthodox denominations.

Except they have no legal power, so they are only used voluntarily, I’m guessing mostly for family disputes.
But please feel free to show a recent example of an Ecclesiastical court that has done anything remotely similar to punish a young couple to caning for posting a picture of them kissing!
And remember that was what the post claimed saying: “Wait till you read about what can happen in the ecclesiastical courts.”.

I find it very strange that you claim such courts exists in Catholicism, because in catholicism there is no basis for such courts, except maybe for being guidance on personal matters for believers.
So what horrible things are happening in these courts?

A hypothetical doesn’t change that it’s a straw man argument, because Christianity does not have the equivalent of Sharia law. Because Jesus transitioned the laws of the old testament to be internal, creating a new covenant, switching away from strict rule keeping of the old laws.
Problem with Islam is that most Muslims still believe in the strict rule keeping of the Quran. But there are Muslims that interpret it differently, and are much more modern thinking.
That difference makes it so Christian laws are not a requirement for a Christian society, a Christian society can have secular laws without problem.

So it is extremely unlikely to come back outside maybe some cults.
Remember the old testament is not Christianity, it is what came BEFORE Christianity, and is the heritage of Christianity, so the barbaric rules of old testament are now void. And a court upholding them as literal can never really be a Christian court.

Unfortunately there are still crazy Christians that believe they need to change the laws based on Christian beliefs, but this is not a requirement of the Bible.

You believe everyone that’s Islamic wants sharia law everywhere and any dissenters to be put to death, don’t you?

AFAIK it’s a key part of Islam and the Quran that an Islamic society must have Islamic law.
Sharia law is for most Islamic countries that law.

and any dissenters to be put to death

Where did that suddenly come from? HUGE Straw man argument.
