For years, Chinese leader Xi Jinping has pushed ethnic minority groups like Tibetans and Uyghurs to adopt an identity rooted in Chinese nationality and allegiance to the ruling Communist Party.
Now, that push has been codified into a sweeping new law that reaches into classrooms, neighborhoods and homes – and gives Beijing the right to target people outside of its borders that it believes violate its rules.
The statute, officially known as the Ethnic Unity and Progress Promotion Law, came into effect on July 1. It bans acts that “undermine ethnic unity or create ethnic division” among China’s 56 officially recognized ethnicities, which include a Han Chinese majority that makes up over 90% of the country’s 1.4 billion people.

Yeah, so where are the 500+ square miles of camps that would need to exist to host that many people. Literally where? You don’t have satellite pictures of any facility or group of facilities that large. That’s half the prison population of the US’ prison system, which covers thousands of square miles.
No. People in prison have prison sentences with determinate amounts of time. Also if they were held ‘indiscriminately’ they would just be prisoners?? Like?? Discriminately imprisoning people is the claim being made by the US. That they’re being locked up for their ethnicity. Or sometimes religion. If they are being held indiscriminately then China isn’t doing anything wrong regardless of how many they have locked up…
TikTok is a US owned and operated company, and it also has a website. It is also by far the largest social media website and the largest source of news for populations under 50.
TikTok is majority owned by Oracle, and for US audiences is run off of Data centers in the US owned by Oracle, who has complete and total control over content shown to US users. The App’s source code itself has been audited by the US federal government and Oracle as a part of reversing the ban on Tiktok.
At no point was Tiktok Chinese owned. Singapore, despite your people’s best efforts to claim otherwise, is not a Chinese city.
You’re so racist you thought a Singaporean app owned by a US company that has been audited by the US government is chinese spyware.
Get some amount of medical help. I recommend going to China, who can offer you psych care for less per session, including flights and hotel stays, than you can receive in the US.
China is an authoritarian regime that has great powers to restrict the information available to international observers. There have been several data leaks that have given us an insight into what is currently going on in the region. When I say up to a million that is the higher end of the estimate, others estimates put it at hundreds of thousands. We need estimates because the Chinese government blocks and tries to stop information from getting out of the region. The Chinese government does not have the best reputation for truth telling and transparency. In terms of maps and satellite imagery the Xinjiang data project does a great job documenting the detention and “re-education” facilities it has found, as well as the destruction of sites of significant cultural heritage to the Uyghur people.

But these are, as claimed by the Chinese government “re-education” camps. They also hilariously try to claim that they are voluntary.
This refers to the manner of their detention, they are held without proof of a specific crime, evidence or a proper trial. If you are going to police language at least understand what you are talking about or else you just look like a fool.
This is only true if you live in the USA, tiktoks parent company, Bytedance was forced to sell about 80% of the American arm to American investors. I and most of the rest of the worlds population do not. Bytedance who’s headquarters are in China run tiktok international. The Chinese government has access to all of the data on their servers and retains a 1% golden share of the company. Next you are going to tell me Facebook is a great source for news with no CIA influence. Why do you think the Americans forced Bytedance to sell tiktoks majority US ownership to them? Because they know exactly how they exploit Metas data themselves.
Good man, if all else fails play the racism card, right! Bytedance is a Chinese company, Zhang Yiming is not from Singapore last I checked?
I’m ok buddy, I live in Ireland where medical care is both free and among the best in the world, top 10 anyway. The only place I could really go to get better care would be somewhere like Taiwan who are typically ranked number 1 for healthcare. I’d just as well take my chances in Russia over China for healthcare!
Nice source you base your hate on.

From Wikipedia:
What are the overseas governments, defense and technology companies, you never wondered before?
They also have an office in Washington, D.C. In short, it’s a western nation-state and capital funded, crappy propaganda source.
