For years, Chinese leader Xi Jinping has pushed ethnic minority groups like Tibetans and Uyghurs to adopt an identity rooted in Chinese nationality and allegiance to the ruling Communist Party.

Now, that push has been codified into a sweeping new law that reaches into classrooms, neighborhoods and homes – and gives Beijing the right to target people outside of its borders that it believes violate its rules.

The statute, officially known as the Ethnic Unity and Progress Promotion Law, came into effect on July 1. It bans acts that “undermine ethnic unity or create ethnic division” among China’s 56 officially recognized ethnicities, which include a Han Chinese majority that makes up over 90% of the country’s 1.4 billion people.

It isn’t synonymous. The preamble of the legislation itself refers to the aim of a “unified multi-ethnic nation”. Just because the USA has issues of racism and race division going on, doesn’t mean that other nations should follow suit. The law is literally trying to break down race divisions and is in itself anti-racist.

Last three words of the second paragraph when translated

E: looks like you have it as “traditional Chinese culture”. Same thing. It’s a dog whistle except it’s been used so often anyone can hear it clearly unless they’re just being intentionally obtuse because they’re a paid assassin.

So you’re saying that the Chinese are using western so-called “dog whistles” to… Refer to what exactly? Ethnic minorities of China are Chinese culture… Are you for preserving that culture or for eradicating it?

I have a contact who’s a qualified Chinese translator, I’m running the sentence “支持开展中华优秀传统文化的宣传和推广” by them. Although to me the translation of the wording matches similarly to what China promotes in it’s tourism advertising campaigns.

I’m just not a genocide denier. That’s basically it.

I’m pointing out that you’re being intentionally obtuse to cast doubt on the existence of said genocide and I think it’s monstrous. Just in case someone who isn’t a CCP agent is actually buying any of it.

Do you deny the so-called “white genocide”? I deny it, maybe that makes me a genocide denier.

The outstanding traditional cultures of all ethnic groups are integral parts of Chinese culture.

I literally says that traditional cultures of all ethnic groups in China constitute Chinese culture. This makes perfect sense. French culture is European culture. Scottish culture is British culture. English culture is British culture. Scottish culture is European culture. Texan culture is American culture. Californian culture is American culture. Han culture is Chinese culture. Miao culture is Chinese culture. Uyghur culture is Chinese culture. Guangzhou culture is Chinese culture. Hong Kong culture is Chinese culture. Beijing culture is Chinese culture. Taiwanese culture is Chinese culture. Hainan culture is Chinese culture. Tibetan culture is Chinese culture. New York culture is American culture. German culture is European culture. Chinese culture is Asian culture.

Stating these things isn’t perpetuating genocide. It just makes sense.

More hand waving. Uyghur genocide is well documented and denying it based on what state controlled media says is your problem. You’ve typed paragraphs and paragraphs but you’ve said nothing of substance. Your point remains that the equivalent of Fox News in China said it’s not happening so everyone must believe them. Netanyahu says there’s no genocide in Palestine, CCP says there’s no genocide in Xinjiang, there is no war in Ba Sing Se. It’s all the same. You’re a gullible fool or you’re a paid assassin.

If any real humans are reading this they need to understand that this user is a state actor with an agenda. Forced sterilization, reeducation camps, relocation and straight up murder is being committed by the Chinese government against the Uyghur people because of their religious beliefs and the way that they look. The person I’m responding to knows this is happening and wants it to happen. They have typed out dozens of comments over multiple days and have said nothing other than a plea for you to trust the villains committing the crimes.

I’m sure they’ll respond here again and talk about translations or definitions of words or other distractions because that’s what they’re being paid to do. But in the end, the argument comes down to trusting the words in a pamphlet written by a corrupt regime that daydreams of being just like America and is doing everything they can to become just as evil and powerful.
