Israel awoke to a frightening new reality on Thursday as it absorbed, with disbelief and largely in silence, the terms of Trump’s agreement to end the war with Iran.

It is a disastrous deal from Israel’s point of view, analysts said, because it accomplishes none of Israel’s war aims and arguably leaves the country in worse shape on each of them.

“It’s a bad agreement in which the Americans are paying with cash, and got, at the maximum, a letter of intent,” Yaakov Amidror, a hawkish former national security adviser to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel, said in an interview.

No i don’t think Netanyahu got the idea just after trump became president. He wanted to go to the war for decades but he couldn’t because of the circumstances which significally changed in 2024. Israel realized that they got away with the genocide in Gaza enables by both Biden and Trump then they got a fake cease fire with Lebanon making them thinking it is the end of Hezbollah. The next logical step is to go to the head of the “snake” Iran. It was the perfect opportunity.

The very reason Israel was so gung ho about getting the US to attack Iran was because they knew they didn’t have a snow balls chance in hell of taking them out themselves.

Iran has 93 million people. Comparing them to Lebanon or Gaza or Jordan is like thinking a championship highschool basketball team could beat the Knicks.
