In the example I’m sorting by new but all the posts are 2y old.

I just tested it, and it works exactly as intended on my Android device. I select New: your post is one of the first (after the pinned ones). I select Old: and it looks like what you posted.
Are you running the latest version? Are you sure you didn’t misclick (New and Old are right next to each other)?
It does say “New” at the top under the sub name.
Fair. Still doesn’t answer the question about version, though. I’m aware that my original comment is one of those “well it works for me” types, but it’s important for the Dev to see that it’s not a universal experience when trying to sus out where the bug may be (if there is one).
Is it doing the same thing for you as OP?
I’m using the latest version from the Play Store.
I can see my post too after posting and it was 2y old.
