So, actually a long story

A neighbour of us took up a stray cat, that obviously asked for help and always came up to him.

So he took her in and in the first night at him, she got 2 kittens.

As their apartment is a little small at the moment (they’re just about to move to a nice one with a garden) and as they already have a cat, we took over.

Mother cat is surprisingly well behaved, but for the first days asked for quite some attention.
Like even calling us, when she needs to go to the toilet - and informed us, when she’s finished.

As she also has a wound from her gangster life, we had the vet here today to check on her and the kittens, and everything is pretty much fine.

But…well, quite some more action in the last days here ;-)

I’ve build them a hideout with blankets, but already in the first night she decided the little room, which was the toilet room of our sadly deceased cat ('bout a year ago), was the better place to be.
So now we put some blankets there and a warning matt.

They all seem to be quite happy and mother is very friendly and chill.

We’re already heart broken, when the neighbours get to their new flat.
But with a garden it’s obviously the better option…

Kittens are now like 6 days old and start to move a bit more - and not just rolling around on their full bellies :-)

Edit: sorry for probably some typos and lost sentences…
I’m starting to lack sleep

Please, try to find a way to get everyone fixed. Cats reproductive systems are ao tragically efficient, the amount of suffering it creates kills me.

        That’s the plan anyway

But at the moment, that’s obviously too soon

Mother cat brought an abscess from a bite with her and it broke up 1-2 days ago.
We pressed it out and cleaned it up, and then flushed it out. And today the vet checked in on it.

The first thing now is to get everyone healthy.
Mother is getting pills against worms once a week and for now some antibiotics against the abscess, that aren’t hurtful to the kittens.

When everything is more settled, we gonna sterilise her - and castrate the kittens (since today we know, that they are probably both male)

        But that’s next step thinking.

        Edit: but maybe to add:
She is surprisingly healthy for an unchipped stray.
No fleas or ticks, got the ears cleaned out today and took care again about the abscess.
She is probably just one year old. So the kittens already seemingly start to outgrow her ;-)

As she came to my neighbour for help and he had tears in his eyes, when he needed to leave them with us (although we’re in the danger same building, just 2 doors away and can visit any time), those two are meant for each other

The kittens are currently a bit open
We have one person, who would take one - or both if needed

We aren’t sure, if we can really give them all away without being heartbroken and think about keeping one.

But we had a really tragic year with the final death of our loved cat last year and…we’re not really over it

We will see how it develops and I tend to give the cats the choice.
As usually cats have chosen me and not the other way round.
So we just give them time and until then care for them as best as we can

Edit: fuck me, my keyboard is stupid since the last update, or maybe it’s just the lack of sleep…
