Pretty obvious that he was riding off the coattails to draw similarities of public outcries of support to Israel and express something akin to, “yeah, welcome to the club we’ve been in the same boat over here.”
I stand by what I said that he kind of has bigger issues at the home front and this is in no way shape or form evidence of him being a staunch Zionist.

It doesn’t matter what you and I or even Zelenskyy believed then or now about Israel; the only thing that mattered at the time was that global public sentiment was clearly behind Israel and that the acute footage of October 7 was horrifying and galvanizing for much of the international community in support of Israel. Zelenskyy would be a fool to not use that to drive a thorn in Iran’s side by hammering one of its proxies and forcing Iran – the nation supplying bombs to Russia to kill his own people – to withhold weapons stockpiles for its own defense. The fact that you minimize the suffering of Palestinians for 78 goddamn year is disgusting. Israel murdered directly more Palestinians yearly on average for 78 goddamn year than Hamas murdered during the 7 of October.
