Ive noticed a couple other sites do this too. They freeze up loading unless I have my VPN on.
What country are you in? Some countries (I believe the UK is one as an example) have started requiring ISPs to block copyright infringing sites including this one. Other ISPs, especially ones owned by parent companies that also own recording industry companies, have also started blocking sites on their own in places thst don’t have net neutrality laws such as the US.
It’s very possible that it’s being blocked by your ISP.
Its odd becuase ive not seen anything else they block. They really dont seem to care about much. Oh well, VPN it is.
Probably shouldn’t use your ISP’s DNS anyway.
Yeah I use mullvads
Do a traceroute in both scenarios, that should give you a clue where the traffic goes and where it stops.
Have you tried using a different DNS server? The one you’re using could be blocking it. Try using DNS over HTTPS.
I did, I use mullvads DNS. Other ones it still won’t work.
