The unprecedented scales of DNA identification of corpses is born of a macabre need. Last week, after Iran and the U.S. agreed to a ceasefire, Israel pressed on in its Lebanese front with a ferocious blitz of airstrikes. The toll was staggering, leaving demolished buildings and infrastructure, along with the attendant skyrocketing casualties — the violence rending people into unrecognizable forms.
“The bodies arrive completely disfigured,” said Hisham Fawwaz, director of the hospitals and dispensaries department at the Lebanese Ministry of Health, which operates the hospital. “The remains are scattered and the features obliterated. We are often not dealing with whole bodies. We are dealing with human fragments that the force of the explosions has turned into medical puzzles.”
That’s is in fact what Hezbollah, Iran, and Hamas had.
They’re not innocent, Oct 7 was unacceptable, but fuck this. This is so far beyond okay, it’s disgusting what Israel is doing. You can fight a war without becoming monsters like this.
That presupposes that they didn’t start the war just so they’d have an excuse to be monsters. They’ve been propping up Hamas for decades as their own personal bogeyman.
They’d happily have a hundred Oct 7ths if it meant they could continue their imperialistic genocide unabated.
This right here. If you read writings from some of the more radical rabbis it will send chills down your spine. They view their own people as pawns for sympathy and outright say they are happy to sacrifice many Jews if it means that a thousand Muslims die for each Jew.
