Well said. I don’t get the impulse for people to be like “there is no solution here. Trump gone won’t change anything” which is just stupid. Yes there is a huge systemic problem… but your metaphor here works well to explain why the take of the other person is not helpful.

Nobody here is going to make an argument so precise and well done that it’ll motivate any one of us to go to the local gun store and start target practice. Helpful in this context is being wise, flexible, understanding, … don’t let yourself become distracted, predictable, or blind.
