I wish we lived in a world where cooler heads would prevail. I’m in support for an end to hostilities. Apparently Gulf countries have made efforts to start negotiations towards a ceasefire but Trump has rejected this.

I think it’s disingenuous for anyone to say they don’t understand the why here. The US either intentionally or through purposeful negligence struck an elementary school in Iran killing 168 schoolchildren. There are reports that it was a double tap strike (meaning they waited for come tend to the wounded and struck again).

Israeli strikes in Lebanon have also killed at least 200 children.

This is where we need to be honest in our understanding of the other side’s perspective and attempt to make sense of it in good faith.

If your child who youve invested so much in, emotionally, temporally, financially, was suddenly torn away from you, would you not want to hurt those who did it?

You may say oh they should go after the children of the state actors that started this war. But, that’s not practical. They’re protected.

So what are your options? You go after those that are complicit. From their perspective, we are complicit.

To kill a child is monstrous. This person chose to become that. We may not do so directly but the fruits of our labor (taxes) undoubtedly goes to the killing of innocent children and we often turn a blind eye to it.

The US and Israel have started this illegal war. Innocent Iranians and Lebanese have suffered for it. There are going to be people that want civilians in these countries to feel their pain too. That is not illogical. If we are being honest with ourselves we will acknowledge that reality. Trump himself said “people will die”.

I can’t take anyone who says how could this happen? seriously. As humans we are coded to look for cause and effect and the cause and effect here is so blatant that only religious orthodoxy or nationalism could make you blind to it.
