A lot of people recommend AudiobookBay but FreeMediaHeckYeah warns to only use their torrents. Are there any known safe sources that provide direct downloads of audiobooks? Preferably something I don’t have to sign up for.
And no, unfortunately I do not have access to a library at this time.
I didn’t ever make an account there I just paste the hash into Tixati but yeah if your client doesn’t support it you can also convert the hash to a magnet link on a lot of sites.
May I ask why you can’t use the torrents on Audiobookbay? I use it and it works great. Torrents usually download in just a few minutes.

I use Nicotine+. It connects to the Soulseek network. I find many audiobooks there. Usually fast downloads. People share directly from their computers.

IRC is pretty good. There are bots that serve up e-books but many also have audiobooks. It’s direct download with a few extra steps.
You can find some on soulseek. Would need to create a username/password but no email required.
Librivox.org has most of the public domain stuff and cross posts to archive.org, my favorite so far is the sleepy hollow reading by Chip

Ive used myanonamous for years, its a private torrent tracker. Obviously needs sign up though sorry.
There are web based torrent downloaders like WebTorrent. But you’ll probably need to sign up for audiobookbay or hope that some public service like The Pirate Bay has what you’re looking for.
