Name anything good any other country has done then. And be sure to exclude things that are even a little self-serving.

Why should you bring up other countries when we’re discussing the US? Especially when the US is not like any other country but the center of global imperialism?

Why should you bring up other countries when we’re discussing the US?

If you’re going to say “A” is bad you need something to compare it to as a standard. So tell me - what shining beacon of freedom and altruism would you say the US is lagging behind?

They said something is good, you said the same thing is bad. They want an example of good to compare to so they know what common reference point to use. Doesn’t seem like goal post shifting at all.

What IS an example of something good?

What you’re saying is different from what they implied. They instead want to shift the narrative to other countries, because should I speak of a “good thing” of another country, they would instantly retort about it and thus lead the original discussion astray, that is, that the United States is an imperialist war machine that serves the interests of its upper class. You don’t need comparison to evaluate US war crimes and crimes against humanity, unless you want to delve into whataboutism.

What IS an example of something good?

The US not intervening militarily politically and economically in other countries.

I don’t read what they said that way at all. But OK.

The US not intervening militarily politically and economically in other countries.

That doesn’t really work as an answer, though. There’s lots and lots of examples of things that the US has done that aren’t "intervening militarily, politically, and economically in other countries’. But presumably the conversation is about things they have done specifically in relation to other countries that are good, not bad.

And if so, if US AID is an example of bad, what is a specific example of good (whether US or another country)?
