Blair was a communist, from what I remember, but started to see what socialism was really like and gradually reverted his attitude. Animal Farm is along the same line but an easy read for kids.

George Orwell’s real name was Eric Blair.
Blair was a communist, from what I remember, but started to see what socialism was really like and gradually reverted his attitude.
