Well, he‘s not a political greenhorn. What I do think is that his pragmatism and his approach to make green and social policies acceptable for other parties by finding compromises was a fresh approach.
If Habeck had been placed in a productive, trusting environment, he could have done a lot better, just like he did in Schleswig-Holstein before. But Habeck was placed in an adversarial environment instead and it just killed his style of politics. Unfortunately, he either couldn’t or didn’t want to adapt, even during this past election campaign, where he tried to hold unwilling gonservatives hands.
