Turbo chicken sounds like a speed metal band name.
With fast-growing breeds so prominent across the EU, it would mark a landmark shift. According to Eurogroup for Animals, 95% of chickens in the bloc are now raised in intensive systems and bred to produce the cheapest amount of meat possible, creating a “race to the bottom”.
Capitalism in a nutshell. The system doesn’t care. Anything other than cold calculus is crushed beneath the wheel of profits
Fast-growing breeds are inherently predisposed to suffering
I’m not arguing ethics of the industry, but more trying to illustrate what the system will do to human if we let it. Animals can’t vote, unionize, etc., and this is what the system does to them. This is what it will do to us if we don’t vote, unionize, and continue to say the ends (profits) justify the means (social enslavement to the system). The entire cost of living crisis is merely a sign that the system is working as intended. The shift from a single income providing for a family, and people being able to afford housing to a scenario where both people must work just to scrape by is further evidence that the intrinsic value of humans is being eroded.
The system should work for us, not the other way around. How we’ve forgotten this part is beyond me.

It’s not suffering, it’s OPTIMIZATION!
Capitalism or not, fuck animal abusers. There’s no ethical way to keep slave animals, period. The whole “industry” must be destroyed.

This is why in so many horror films/books/media, the monsters are just doing to humans what we do to animals and other humans we consider below us.
Terrifying to think somehow we would be treated that way.
