Africa’s Pan African Payment and Settlement System is expanding across the continent, connecting banks, central banks and payment switches in an effort to make cross border payments in African currencies faster and less dependent on the US dollar.
Africa’s attempt to make it easier for businesses and individuals to pay each other across borders without first converting their money into dollars or euros is beginning to move from an institutional project into functioning financial infrastructure. The Pan African Payment and Settlement System, known as PAPSS, is expanding across the continent through central banks, commercial banks, national payment switches and fintech companies, creating a network through which a business in one African country can initiate a payment in its own currency while the recipient receives the money through the financial system of another African country.

True, but notably it took a revolution against Gaddafi to give the bandits of Euro-American imperialism the pretense they needed to act. It doesn’t seem to me like there’s such a single point of failure here. It also helps that Western control in Africa is pretty spotty (see: the Coup Belt) so we can expect a lack of bases to pull that kind of bullshit from to be relevant.
Who do you think backed that revolution? It was in place to manufacture consent. The world runs on the dollar, if the dollar collapses the western world would be in turmoil. So the bankers/governments will do just about anything to keep it afloat until they can get digital currency in place to keep us all in line.
If Gaddafi hadn’t threatened the world fiat currency w/ the gold backed currency there would have been none of what happened to him and Libya.
Not saying this to be a downer, but there are very very dangerous people/states that want to keep the status quo. Will the dollar eventually collapse, of course it will. How many currencies since the introduction of “fiat currency” has collapsed?
There’s one problem with this line of thinking: You have to assume the Arab Spring was a Western plot or that Libya would’ve gotten through it without significant unrest if not for a Western plot. This is going to be hard to prove given that all Arab-majority countries had significant unrest during the Arab Spring, including neutral countries and US allies (including Tunisia where the whole thing started). The West definitely picked a side in Libya’s revolution in a way it didn’t do in most others, but they didn’t will it into existence.
