It turns out, all green energy needed for success was to sandbag the other team with a proponent so incompetent that his best efforts to keep oil ahead of the falling costs of solar utterly destroys the world energy order, allowing solar to fill the void!
That might actually be at least a positive thing coming out of this timeline’s disasters…
