any change to shell scripts that isn’t posix compatible brings opinionated people out the woodwork.
Yo. Did I hear someone breaking POSIX-compatability over here?

First, I would like to give you some major props. Installing Arch, in itself, is a big deal. It is not a beginner-friendly distro. It is a very power-user friendly distro and has an incredible wiki that is helpful, at least to some degree, for many distros.
For a beginner distro, I would recommend Linux Mint for its easy transition and great focus on user experiences or Bazzite if you really want to install and get gaming.
When taking drivers in Linux, most are provided as either kernel modules (integrated into the kernel, so you don’t have to worry about installing anything) or packaged for the distro, in which case, once installed via package manager, they’ll auto-update whenever you update system packages. They are so much easier to deal with than Windows drivers (for the end user). For example, to use a Wacom drawing tablet, all one has to do is plug it in.

They really need to stop the passivity in headlines related to these atrocities. “Murdered” is the word, not the passive “killed” which could imply a lack of intent.

Having worked at a McDick’s franchise in the past, my experience was that profit was the excuse. The owner wanted to feel like an aristocrat, showing up in their Bugatti and making proclamations without caring about how they meshed with reality (ex. fewer employees per shift will cause more waste because of the need to pre-cook more to keep up with rush demand).

The owners didn’t actually care. It was just a way to exert power over people.

Skills that you learn for Godot will better translate to other areas, if that’s what you want. Roblox would teach you mechanics but you’d be stuck in Roblox. For scripting languages, while Lua is handy for its embeddability (Luau in Roblox is based on Lua), GDScript is very Python-like, which makes the skills more transferrable.

And that was signed by Trump.

I really think that “killed” is the wrong term. It is far too neutral. The correct word here would be “murdered”.

Life long windows user. I switched to Arch
Fuck. That’s like going straight from English breakfast tea to hash oil.
I’ve been using Linux almost exclusively both in my personal and professional life for a decade and a half. I only installed Arch a month or two ago.

I would say that it is cowardice to demand that others risk their lives while enjoying relative safety. And anyone attempting to force another to risk their lives for any reason is attempting to rob others of their agency over the most fundamental thing that any human has right to: their life.
Maybe it’s nice sentiment for a healthy teenager or 20-something that isn’t responsible for anyone else’s well-being. However, is that reality doesn’t fit neatly into black and white; bravery and cowardice (and glory is just a lie that the rich and old tell the young and poor to get them to fight and die for them). Sometimes the braver and more just thing is to fulfill one’s responsibilities to their spouse, children, or dependents and ensure that they are able to live to help others. And other’s have had so much taken from them by a place that asking for them to also give their life is pure sadism.
Beyond that, not everyone is physically, mentally or socially equipped for warfare, which is a good thing because humanity also needs farmers, doctors, teachers, and other builders.

Everyone has one life to live. Most people younger than 60 have had next to no control over the US government through any phase of their lives - hard to rationalize this being “their own” mess. Telling these people that they must risk their lives, rather than seeking better ones is pretty ethically problematic.
And on the other side of the coin, that is the exact same rhetoric used by racists and xenophobes to argue against asylum seekers.
(Note: This really doesn’t apply to the tax-dodging shitheads who are avoiding paying for the societal benefits that they enjoy.)

And there it is. You wanted the fascist to get elected.

Did Elon Musk shoot her while on a K binge?

At this point, I’m starting to think that the next evolution of conventional weapons of war will be building a SpaceX launch pad near the intended target.

I think some French (?) guy managed to get a hold of some that didn’t have warheads and took apart the guidance systems on YouTube.
For my purposes (note taking in college), it absolutely lived up to the hype. No x86 laptop that I could find at the time came close to its battery life.
Oh, absolutely. The thing that is weird is being non-x86 hardware and explicitly implementing the translation layer in hardware that has minimal field configurability (they did have the capability of loading something similar to microcode). It makes sense in some ways (performance being a big one) but, seems like it would be vulnerable to potential changes in the external ISA.
Possibly but the CPU was pretty crazy. It used “code morphing” to translate x86 instructions to its internal ISA, something that just seems a bit ridiculous to do at the hardware level.
Hey. How’d you get my notes?..I forgot where I put them so if you have some kind of trick or magic, it would be most helpful.
