Maybe rephrase your comment if you don’t want it to be interpreted the way I interpreted it.

Thank goodness we don’t judge people based on their heritage, like Nazis.

Nigerias got oil, it’s not a secret

If that was a typo and you mean international, then certainly for Spanish speaking, African, and nearby countries as well as china (which is all we could manage at that time, though we probably would have aggressed Europe as well if we could have). If you’re talking about domestic, then yes if you weren’t the right kind of Christian white man.

Before WWII was also very bad

Having a 9-5 is such a trap for me. I excel as a waiter or barista, where I can manage lots of high priority/low importance tasks (I’ve been in customer service too long to really consider anything that happens in a cafe important, unless something’s on fire. The other important thing would be serving someone unsafe food, but I don’t fuck around with food safety), but just can’t make myself do low priority/high importance tasks with any regularity. I used to have a job where I was legally required to do things within 30/60/90 days and I regularly pulled all nighters to make up for weeks of inaction.
I would really like to earn more money than customer service yields, but it’s hard to find something that fits. I’ve started teaching, which is new and therefore not a problem, but I can already tell that I’ll let corrections go longer than I should once the shine of teaching wears off

They didn’t fall off the cruise ship, but off of a container ship nearby.
Sixteen containers fell from a cargo ship near the Nab tower lighthouse off Bembridge, Isle of Wight, at around 6pm on Saturday.
The cruise ship is stuck because the container ship needs to recover the containers to protect the environment (and they don’t explicitly say, but moving a cruise ship through the harbor will kick up sediment and might damage the containers).

For some reason, subtitles are terrible, but if you plug a couple of pages into deepl, it’s pretty understandable. You need to clean it up a little, but that’s pretty easy. I am a language teacher, and actively have to design assignments so that my students can’t just plug them into deepl, because it renders them pointless (for about a third of the class, two thirds don’t clean anything up and it’s obvious).
What?
Edit: I can’t tell if you’re being bigoted because I’m an immigrant or if you just hate my OTP Garashir
Diminishing returns like crazy though
This reminded me to call my bank, thank you

I mean, ideally they want to stay.
I’ve got good fine motor control, which means that I can sew, knit, roll a joint, braid hair, make a pastry, seal a dumpling, fold origami, draw, sculpt, paint nails, pick a lock, and most other fine dexterity tasks, excluding musical instruments.
This sounds like bragging, but I didn’t do anything to earn the ability to do this, I literally just do it and it works. I’m not proud of it (though I’m occasionally proud of the things I can craft) and I don’t think anyone else is unskilled because it doesn’t work when they do it.

a “worrying escalation” of the conflict
An attack with no injuries is a worrying escalation of the full blown war in which the other party keeps vaguely (or not so vaguely) threatening nukes?

The world should follow Canada’s lead and nobody should visit from anywhere.
I’m American living in Germany and married to a German. I brought him to meet my family last November, because I suspected trump would win or there would be a more significant version of January 6th. People keep asking when we’re coming back, but why the hell would I endanger my husband like that? It’s simply not safe for anyone right now, but especially for noncitizens.
I miss my family and friends, but they can come visit us. We’ll even help them get started learning German and help with their visas and housing if they want to stay.
That’s close-minded. Many people are motivated to improve the world beginning with their immediate environment without having any special attachment to their environment. I’m sorry if you wouldn’t be, but don’t put that on all of us.
