If you host a server and have a lifetime pass, you’ll be able to share your collection with anyone. It will allow hardware encoding so less lag on your users end. You can also locally download content on your devices to watch offline.
A soup.

My votes for content. A long fast tail twitch is usually annoyance. This looks like “Chill and surveying” but it’s the only context I have and I don’t know your cat so this could be wrong.
Ya wasps hate my laser autofocus. I don’t know if it hurts them or scares them but they jump away when you focus on them.

It’s something a real human would understand

It makes sense if you’re a scumbag of a human
Pretty strong and judgemental opinions. Also incorrect 😀
Immutable distros are great for the overwhelming majority of all computer users. Most people want a computer that lets them web browser, game, consume media, and do application based productivity like editing (documents, photos, illustrations, video, etc.). In fact, that was too generous of a description because most people just consume content.
If your distro requires cli for regular usage and requires manual maintenance, it’s only suitable for computer adepts, which is a small minority of all computer users. You are not the average computer user. No one on this site is. If you can’t see that then you aren’t in touch with reality.

Megalopolis
I second this. Am idiot
I don’t like being used or taken advantage of. Simple as. When you have a Microsoft product, you are used by Microsoft. You PAY them for their operating system and then they SPY on your computer interactions. You buy their product and then you become their product as they make money off of tailoring ads to you based on where your mouse moves, what you click on, the contents of the files that you upload to OneDrive (that they then use to train Copilot with).
Linux is a tool. It helps me interface with the computer. It doesn’t have an agenda behind it that involves exploiting me for money. Linux is built on the assumption that humans are humans and not wealth extraction batteries.

I installed in on my pixel 3a. It was neat when I tried Ubuntu touch in 2012 and it felt like a throwback to back then when I first booted it recently.

It just works. It works better than Windows 11 in my experience. I can’t break it. I forget it’s there. I just do computer stuff. Like video editing, gaming, web browsing.

You do a massive disservice to the overwhelming majority of computer users.
To everyone else: if you want a computer that just works and don’t want to fuck around with the command line, Bazzite is perfect. It should be recommended over Linux Mint.
The dev and the people need to know!
QUOTE ME ON THIS SHIT
Yes and finally now there is a solution. Go team.
Hell ya that shits fun
Bless. I have a crap ton of porn organized in folders. I wanna back it up (most of it is my wife). Now I can by mounting the filesystem since I only use Linux at home. Hooray what a hero the dev is.
Just because the use case isn’t useful for you doesn’t mean it’s useless for everyone. I have a family who enjoys media and I like sharing with those that I like. Encoding is necessary for people who are not physically in my house and who may be viewing on a mobile device.
You asked why anyone would want these features, I explained why I use them, and you’ve taken it as me trying to convince you that you needed it. Wild.
