As long as you make sure he can breath unobstructed. People who buy these breeds willingly and then don’t even have a vet check their breathing (I know from dogs they more often than not can’t breath through their nose without surgery) should honestly be treated like animal abusers. Same with Sphynx cats (though those unfortunately can’t be treated to have fur again…), I do not understand what’s wrong with people sometimes, is their empathy switch turned off or sth…

The code quality apparently was abysmal and full of dirty hacks due to a mix of “beginner energy” and “gp fast & break things” Silicom Valley mindset. The issues with bun (leading to the big Anthropic hack) were subtly blamed on the Zig language, even though Zig is completely fine; Bun’s code (which already was full of bad generated slop at that point, as well as code by programmers who were treated badly -> more bad code) was just crap.

After Zig was blamed the Zig creator wrote a blogpost detailing all of it. Worth a read, certainly more human than the corposlop Anthropic announces.

  • It’s even more funny if you know the backstory of bun. It was basically the perfect example of how to not to do things before they burned a whole forrest to have Claude slop it into another language, based on a codebase that was measurably bad. Now nobody actually knows the whole codebase anymore.

Given the phenomenal garbage that are the other big vibecoded projects (like the “compiler that can compile Linux” - it can’t) using bun now is just like lottery.

At least two distinct processes. Since we don’t know how consciousness emerges we can’t tell if the brain stem is strictly required, so the split-brain phenomena you’re probably referencing might only shows that we got two major regions for higher brain function but not two separate… “souls”?

I swear we gonna learn sooooo much about consciousness once we’re able to artificially (and safely, temporarily) link two brains together.

  • Meaningful Indentation > Unnecessary visual clutter

I will die on this hill. Python is wonderfully readable as it saves on unnecessary characters because indentations as well as line breaks are (usually) part of the syntax. Something like C++ with all its :;{}<> is just painful to read, not to mention annoying to write on many non-US keyboard layouts such as german without modifications.

I think some rice cookers popular in Asia do have features to keep it warm, activate at a certain time etc. Perhaps you want cooked rice for breakfast (perhaps already cooled down but still moist and fluffy), or have it prepared so you can make Sushi later while taking a nap. Can definitely see the usecase in a food culture with lots of rice.
