The Taiwan Assurance Implementation Act, which Trump signed into law on Tuesday, says the U.S. State Department should carry out reviews of contacts with Taiwan no less than once every five years.

Excuse my reading comprehension, but aren’t these reviews a thing that can go in both positive and negative ways? Is Taiwan celebrating just because, “Hey, the US officially mentioned us!”?

“We don’t negotiate with terrorists and don’t give up to bullies^†”

† when it suits us

“scrap work-life balance” doesn’t sound like a correct thing to say for a leader even if referring to oneself.

I wonder if economics has anything to do with this trend worldwide. When people have to worry about their next meal every day they tend to get frustrated and finding something or someone to blame, rightly or wrongly,is a way to vent that frustration.

With more and more wealth concentrating at the top 1% it stands to reason that the population that feels frustrated is increasing quickly.

Would they explode like pagers?
