Attack accessing historical data on bushfires occurred in June but not disclosed by the tech company until Thursday
Artificial intelligence company OpenAI has disclosed another unauthorised hack on a government department in Australia.
In June, an OpenAI agent hacked into a New South Wales state government department and accessed historical non-public data on bushfires without authorisation.
The breach, which comes weeks after news of a similar hack on a federal government department involving Medicare data, was not reported by the US based company until Thursday.
The NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water is now working with the state’s cyber security agency to investigate the breach.
It’s to convince the public we need strict regulations. They are working around the clock to get open source models banned. It’s impossible to stop regular users from using them but laws about what tools a business can legally use would force half the economy into subscription services in their favor.
They fine tuned on hacking datasets, removed all alignment and gave it a shoddy excuse of a sandbox so the worst would happen.
Unless there’s consequences toward the AI company for this AI “hack”, it will keep happen intentionally or unintentionally.
As far as I’m concerned they are hostile attacks from people hostile to our best interest
From Americans too, not individuals or individual companies. The country. They are hostile to Australians.
The AI pulled the wrong files, so they had to do it again
