As the last of the Easter eggs become egg salad, green olives in egg salad, yes or no? If yes, where are you? Trying to figure out where it’s common. My wife and I believe that green olives belong in egg salad, but my coworkers say no.
I’ve had it and I liked it. I prefer little pickles like cornichons though and you can’t have both.
My egg salad sandwich at a Colorado courthouse cafeteria yesterday did not have olives in it. I’m not sure I’ve seen that before. But I could totally see it, especially since I’ve seen an olive since garnish on a deviled egg which is basically egg salad with the white as a boat for the rest. That was probably in the Midwest
Never done it, but I do put them on my deviled eggs. I wouldn’t personally mix it with the egg salad, but it would be a topping of the sandwich. I will for sure be doing this next egg salad batch I make though. I’m not sure why I’ve never tried it nor ever heard it. In the Midwest US.
In salad there are no rules. Follow your dreams.
Not common but sounds delicious. If you like egg salad with olives why tf not
I’m particular about the temperature at which I eat eggs. Personally couldn’t do cold egg salad at all.
one of my core childhood memories is eating ice cold egg salads after a day of it being in my fanny pack skiing…that and sparkling apple cider.
The only place olives belong are crushed for oil or in the trash
BLASPHEMY!
lol, nah, you do you, leaves more for us.
Olives do not belong in egg salad.
I mean, if you put it in because you like it, that’s fine. You do you. But I wouldn’t eat it.
Canada. Absolutely not. I like olives but no way do they go in egg salad.
I’m into it. I’ll eat it either way, but I love green olives.
Pacific Northwest-ish
My mom made egg salad with Miracle Whip and sweet pickle relish, plus a little mustard, salt, and pepper. She grew up on a farm in Michigan.
I don’t eat egg salad anymore, but I would add green olives, I like them.
